Picasso Top Class

Picasso Top Class

By Linda Roberts, Professional Sewing Educator

Picasso Top

Have fun with color blocking with this loose-fitting top with jewel neckline, off-center front seam, square-inset long tapered sleeves, and front pocket.   This garment features a special overlapping seam technique which Linda will demonstrate.  Raw edges will be visible which adds unique design interest.  Traditional seam construction methods are also possible and will be demonstrated.

Although designed for knits, this pattern can be made with wovens that have a soft hand and drape.  An additional half yard (or fat quarter) of fabric is required if you choose to use a woven.  Linda will demonstrate a quick and easy method to create the bias seam binding used to finish the neckline.

Fabrics chosen, woven or knit, require a similar “hand” and weight for the best professional looking garment.
