Introduction to Free Motion Quilting on you Sewing Machine



Yes, you can quilt your own quilts on a domestic sewing machine! Learn the basics!  Several stitch patterns will be explored, including stippling and stippling with attitude, wavy lines, pebbles and combining designs. You will get plenty of time to play and have fun in this three hour class! When you are finished, you will have a sampler filled with free-motion designs. (You must bring a sewing machine that allows the feed dogs to drop).

Requirements: Knowledge of your sewing machine, including how to drop the feed dogs and attach a quilting foot.
Supplies needed:
  • 1/4-inch foot
  • Free motion quilting foot
  • Straight stitch throat plate (optional but highly recommended)
  • 40 or 50 wt. cotton thread, one spool of dark and one spool of light
  • New microtex sharps needles
  • Scissors or snips
  • Pen or pencil
  • Blank white paper, such as copy paper
