Memory Apron

Discover the world of Memory making with this beautiful Memory Apron! Have you always wanted to do something special with all those clothing items in your closet that you have kept from your grandparents, family members or special someone?  This class will teach you the art of Memory making found in Suzanne Paquette's book Modern Memory Quilts by making a Memory Apron.  You will be able to take the techniques you learn in this class and apply them to your own world of creating handmade items that will live on. Turn heirlooms into treasures to be cherished for decades to come.

Skill Level: beginner
Skill Details: If you are new to the personal art of memory making through use of textiles, this is the class for you. You will need to know how to sew and be comfortable with basic piecing.
Requirements: Materials (students will receive a 10% discount on all class supplies):

  • Modern Memory Quilts: A handbook for capturing meaningful moments by Suzanne Paquette
  • Sewing machine in good working order. Foot pedal and power cord.
  • 1 Yard French Fuse (based on 40" usable width)
  • Fabric A: 1 1/2 Yards (3/8 yd Front, 3/4 yd Back, 1/4 yd Apron Ties)
  • Template material
  • Loop turner (optional)
  • 1/2 inch Ruler
  • Nonpermanent marking tool
  • Clothing or a mix of quilting cotton to make 37 - 5 3/4" x 3 1/4" rectangles for front of Apron (There are no limits on the type of fabric if you want to give it a try! Thick fabrics are challenging when making your points and seam intersections but I will teach you to let the perfection go to create a lifetime treasure!)
