Learning to use your new machine to its fullest capabilities will let you enjoy your machine for many years. Understanding your machine's features and learning its navigation will maximize your creativity. While you will be learning some basics, you will also be learning some creative techniques, and we hope both will be inspirational!

This class contains a series of exercises intended to familiarize you with the features of your new BERNINA embroidery machine. In addition, you will learn about needles, threads, stabilizers, embroidery hoops and accessories, all of which will increase your knowledge of sewing and assist you in achieving success in all of your embroidery endeavors!

Picasso Pants Make these coordinating lantern pants with front, side, and back panels finished with tapered bottom wedges. They have a flat-front waistband with elastic sides and back. Linda will guide you through the entire process and you?ll leave with a casual pair of pants perfect for your Florida lifestyle. Suitable for light to mid-weight cotton, linen, rayon, polyester, silk, and knits. Using very soft wovens, silks, or knits may result in slightly reduced definition of the lantern bottom design feature.

Picasso Top Have fun with color blocking with this loose-fitting top with jewel neckline, off-center front seam, square-inset long tapered sleeves, and front pocket. This garment features a special overlapping seam technique which Linda will demonstrate. Raw edges will be visible which adds unique design interest. Traditional seam construction methods are also possible and will be demonstrated. Although designed for knits, this pattern can be made with wovens that have a soft hand and drape. An additional half yard (or fat quarter) of fabric is required if you choose to use a woven. Linda will demonstrate a quick and easy method to create the bias seam binding used to finish the neckline. Fabrics chosen, woven or knit, require a similar ?hand? and weight for the best professional looking garment.

In this class, we will create this beautiful top that will add confidence to basic garment sewing. Linda will lead you from easy pattern layout, cutting, marking and sewing, to an addition to your wardrobe you'll be proud to wear! AND it has pockets!!!!!
